So what is an Evening Dress?
A less formal version of a Cocktail Dress or even a Ball Gown is the short answer but really it is whatever you feel comfortable in if you are going out for a special meal or celebration. Certainly not something you would wear every day but at the same time comfortable enough for a family celebration or informal get together - maybe the ideal dress for a company outing and could make a great Christmas dress.
